SAN FIERRO FIRE DEPARTMENT

"To Preserve Life & Property"

The San Fierro Fire Department strives to provide fire and emergency medical services to the City and County of San Fierro, San Andreas. The San Fierro Fire Depatment serves an estimated population of around 1.4 million people, including the approximately 850,000 citizens residing in San Fierro. In the 19th century, specifically 1850, volunteer companies were first formed in the city of San Fierro. Sixteen years later paid staff were introduced. In 1906 the department was considered to be on par with larger cities in the United States of America on the East Coast. The San Fierro Fire Department has had a clear mission that they have strived towards achieving for centuries. The mission is to protect the lives and property of the people of San Fierro from fires, natural disasters and any hazardous material incidents; to save lives by providing emergency medical services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a work environment that especially values health, wellness and cultural diversity.

The San Fierro Fire Department prides itself on it's organisation. The department is split in to three bureaus, two of which are considered to be 'primary' whereas the third is considered 'secondary'. The two 'primary' bureaus are led by the Deputy Fire Chief(s) in the department and the third 'secondary' bureau is led by the Fire Chief. The bureaus are: Field Operations Bureau (primary), Administrative Resource Bureau (primary) and the Office of the Fire Chief (secondary). The department has devised a rank structure to clearly outline rank authority within the department. The Fire Chief acts as the overseer of the department, see below:

THE DEPARTMENT'S BUREAUS & DIVISIONS

The Administrative Resource Bureau is currently led by Deputy Fire Chief, Holly Miller and currently fits two divisions with plans to expand this number in the future. The two divisions include the Recruitment & Training division which is currently led by Deputy Fire Chief Holly Miller as the division director and Fire Lieutenant Daniel West as the assistant division director. The second division includes the Public Information Desk. This is easily comparable to the 'Public Affairs Division' found commonly within police departments around the country. The Public Information Desk does not have an active leader as of 27/MAY/2018. The Administrative Resource Bureau focuses primarily on the administrative side of things, whether that be dealing with the acceptance or denial of employment applications, answering frequently asked questions and giving statements relating to incidents that the fire department involves themselves with.

The Field Operations Bureau is currently led by Assistant Fire Chief, Klara Eisenhower whom is acting as an 'Interim' Director until a suitable candidate is found. The bureau currently fits three divisions which is likely to be increased in the future. The divisions fitted within the bureau include the Aerial Operations Division which strives on rapid aerial response to situations which are outside of the City of San Fierro and typically in the county. The division operates frequently in Bayside, Angel Pine and other surrounding counties and is currently led by Fire Lieutenant, Jenny Myers. The second division includes the Medical Examiner Division. This is a division which is commonly referred to as 'coroners', however, differs slightly. The Medical Examiner division is currently led by Senior Firefighter, Elise Quinn. The division serves to investigate deaths occurring under unusual or suspicious circumstances, perform post-mortems, and initiate inquests. The third division of the Field Operations Bureau is Urban Heavy Rescue which was once led by Fire Captain, Drake Sobo until his resignation. The division is now led by Assistant Fire Chief, Klara Eisenhower whom serves as an 'Interim' director for the division. The Urban Heavy Rescue division involves the location, extrication, and initial medical stabilization of victims trapped in structural collapse due to natural disasters, mines and collapsed trenches.
