Prison Architect is a private prison construction and management simulation video game developed and published by Introversion Software.[1] It was made available as a crowdfunded paid alpha pre-order on September 25, 2012 with updates scheduled every three to four weeks.[2] With over 1,000,000 copies sold, Prison Architect made over US$10.7 million in pre-order sales for the alpha version.[3] Prison Architect was an entrant in the 2012 Independent Games Festival.[4]

The game was available on Steam's Early Access program, and was officially released on October 6, 2015.

You manage a prison. You hire staff. You build foundations. You look after your prisoners. You take care of their needs they way you want. You become relaxed or harsh warden. You do whatever you want! But you are looking after a prison. The game is pretty much similar of Dungeon Keeper and few other inspired games.

You can build foundations and room them with Cells, Holding Cells, Solitary, Kitchen, Canteen, Security, Canteen, Classroom and a lot, lot, lot more. You can also hire your staff from administrators to security forces and janitors. There are a lot staff to hire and you really need to hire all of them to look after your prison and make sure it's up to standards.

Of course, prisoners come into play in this game. They have needs, they ain't robots. They can form gangs, they can cause riots, cause fight (Fight is the most exciting fun in the game to sit back and watch but don't let it happen too much, you can't know what will happen), have different traits, dig escape tunnels and so on. The more prisoners you got in a prison, the more staff you need to hire. The bigger prison you got, the more staff (Usually janitors) you will need to hire. The more troublesome your prisoners get, the more security forces you need to hire. The more escape tunnels they dig, the more security forces specialised to certain problems you will need to hire.

Anyone played it, anyway?

I should get back to it and add george chalkias in as an inmate, he would have been arrested for pedophilia and for being extremely gay with his gifs on barp's discord

Best Alpha development a game ever had. When I'm bored I usually load up an old prison and expand it a bit.

Good game to play for 15 minutes or 15 hours.

I slowly built up a prison to a max capacity of 700 inmates. it is pleasing to the eye since its symmetrical. Over time however the inmates formed gangs and they are taking over...

Gangs is your worst nightmare in the game, they add a significant challenge. The more prisoners you have in your prison, the more gang members you will have, effectively making the prison out of control in case of riots or gang fights. Sure, you might deploy armed guards or even snipers but they are largely useless at that point.

I would suggest you to isolate your gang leaders though. Set them supermax, create a small cell for them and you should be fine. However, be extremely careful if any of the gang leader have the trait of "Volatile" as they will begin to fight for no reason. And if they do and they get punished, all gang members of his gang will be upset thus causing an instant riot if you got like.. More than 30+ gang members in said gang.
