John Scalise also known as Johnny Boy was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. John grew up in the suburbs, your typical middle class family, dad worked as an accountant his mom as a trauma nurse. John was not an exhibitionist, he did not want to stick out in school, he kept his grades in the middle so he doesn’t get labeled as a bad or good student. He always had an urge to get his adrenaline pumping, he would commit petty crimes just to get a thrill of someone chasing him or getting caught. During his senior year in high school he did not really find himself, everyone was talking what college they will apply for or what kind of jobs they got lined up. John however had nothing, no real interest in any subject, still an adrenaline junky. A week before graduation John was walking home still gloomy as ever when he spotted a group that brought light into his dark life. He saw men in uniforms, United State Marines, he did not waste a second to flag them down and just started shooting question after question at them, the young marines gladly answered them all. They parted ways and John knew the next step of his life.

Age 17 days after finishing boot camp and getting enlisted, the call came it was time for John to make his first trip to the war zone. A tearful departure as friends and family see him of not knowing if he will comeback. Immediately after hitting the ground John was itching for action, but that had to wait  because John was scouted out by the commanding officer of the Force Recon unit stationed at the base due to his excellent marksman skills during boot camp he was selected as the units new sniper. 8 years have passed since then, John and his three squad mates were always together, with over 220 confirmed kills and 35 successfully captured high value targets.

It was one month before the squads contracts end, after eight years in the service they knew that they won’t be coming back. They were on their last mission as a squad, what should have been a simple scout and report operation turned into something life changing. They saw an old run down truck with a native inside in the middle of nowhere. Things got worse when they saw a black SUV approaching the truck. At first they had no idea what was going on until they saw the native take out a standard US Marine Corps M4A1 from the back of the truck. No one but them knew about the truck, they devised a plan to take out the two people there and then see what they should do. Two gun shots followed by an echos and 2 bodies was all that was left. When they checked the truck it was full of brand new US Marine Corps weaponry. John and his squad had two choices now the moral and patriotic one to call this in or go down the path of crime and not report it. Billy a squad member had a cousin who worked for a private military company as a equipment manager who was in charge of purchasing firearms as well luckily for them the PMC had a base 30 km from the truck location. Billy took a long range radio and managed to get in touch with the base and his cousin. Transport was arranged and a hefty sum of money transferred to their bank accounts.

Five months after leaving the army, John still kept in touch with his childhood friend James Guinta, who moved to San Fierro. With a fair chunk of money left he decides to pack his bags and leave for San Fierro.
